KAOS (Korea Arctic Ocean-data System)
KAOS is a one-stop web-based GIS (Geographic Information System) portal to provide both data and information on the physical, biological and chemical ocean parameters in the Arctic oceans. This system allows us to better understand environmental changes by sharing the Arctic ocean-data.
KAOS:
1) Manages more than 30 ocean parameters acquired from RV Araon operated by Korea Polar Research Institute (KOPRI).
2) Utilizes GIS-based graphic tools to better understand spatio-temporal distributions of the ocean parameters.
3) Shares the Arctic ocean-data with other researchers.
