Bulk sediment properties and lignin phenols for sediment cores from the Kongsfjorden, Svalbard (HH22 and HH23)

Using a combination of bulk geochemical parameters (carbon and nitrogen contents, stable carbon and radiocarbon isotopes), molecular analyses (lignin phenols), and sedimentological measurements (bulk dry density, grain size, and surface area), we address these gaps by analyzing three multicores collected from Kongsfjorden to: (1) characterize sedimentary OC along a transect from the inner to the outer fjord, (2) estimate temporal variations in the relative contributions of sedimentary OC sources over the past centuries, and (3) assess the impact of human-induced climate variability on environmental changes.
