ApRES Iridium-transmitted data for basal melt estimation from Thwaites Glacier, B22a, and Dotson Ice Shelf, Antarctica (2022-2023)

ApRES (Autonomous phase-sensitive Radar Echo Sounder) measures the radar reflection signal from the internal and basal interface of ice shelf. The radar return signals are used to estimate the basal melt rate under ice shelves. A part of full dataset is transmitted by Iridium modem in real-time. 5 ApRES stations were deployed in 2022 and the data transmitted by Iridium SBD message were archived. The SBD data file (.sbd) is a binary file containing the amplitude and phase of radar return signal and the SBD text messages (.txt) indicate the time, message size, and location information.
