ApRES (Autonomous phase-sensitive Radio Echo Sounder) data on the pinning point of Thwaites Eastern Ice Shelf recovered in 2026
ApRES (Autonomous phase-sensitive Radar Echo Sounder) measures the radar reflection signal from the internal and basal interface of ice shelf. The radar return signals are used to estimate the basal melt rate under ice shelves. In early 2026, we recovered the raw data 1 station on the pining point of Thwaites Eastern Ice Shelf.
