Photosynthetic response of Antarctic lichen Stereocaulon under controlled dehydration and rehydration condition

Antarctic lichen, Stereocaulon, is usually found in the dried areas near King Sejong Station, Barton Peninsula. Such a dry condition is likely to inhibit the photosynthetic performance of photobionts in Stereocaulon. To understand how this lichen responds to drier conditions, we set up the automatic recording system storing data of photosynthetic parameters, weight, humidity under controlled dehydration (RH 15-20%) and rehydration (over RH 95%) conditions in the KOPRI. We report the F, Fm' and Y(II) values of three individual lichens under 24hr dehydration and next 24hr rehydration conditions.
