Snow densities and temperature profiles and ice temperature profiles at Thwaites ice shelf station, 2026
Snow densities and temperature profiles were measured from 1.05 m depth snow pits and 5.73 m length firn core at Thwaites hot water drill station during the ANA16B cruise. Further notes were taken for the snow pits when any melt layers were observed about their position and thickness. Snow hardness, crystal size and shape were also documented using a snow crystal card.
